This year is going to be an Apple treat, the white iPhone 4 just hit stores worldwide, we had the iPad 2 and now even the iPhone 5 is coming our way this fall (delayed to give the white iPhone 4 some space). Yet, let us be a little more critical. The white iPhone 4, is just the white version of the iPhone 4, which has been here since last year. Unless you are a hardcore Apple fanatic, I do not think it is going to make much of a difference. In addition, even though the iPhone 5 will feature some really cool software and hardware upgrades, it is not expected to be a radical change from the iPhone 4, something similar to the iPhone 3G and the iPhone 3GS. Thus, let us set our sights on the real prize: the iPhone 6. Now we do not have specific details yet, but the following are some of the most tantalizing clues about the iPhone 6 yet.
Sharp LCD screens: expect a new type of screen featuring a low-temperature poly-silicon liquid crystal developed by Sharp. Production has already been planned and getting ready in time for the launch date, which should be somewhere in the first half of 2012.
Lighter and thinner: the iPhone is set to shrink in weight and thickness because the new type of screen will allow Apple to directly integrate display drivers with the screen and save a lot of space and resulting in a thinner LCD display.
Longer battery life: the screens will also enhance the batter life and allows for more efficiency and this is important considering the increase in the potential processing power of the new iPhone 6.
Until we get more news, we are going to analyze these rumors more closely.
