According to the final report of 2010 from ‘Millenal Media’, Apple remains the king of mobile advertising with its network. Looking back over the last 15 months, Apple has been the top manufacturer and top for advertisement requests on the ‘Millenal Media’ network – and this is just the beginning as demand is still running high with the prospect of going even higher. Apple registered a 12% growth from third to fourth quarter of 2010 and 14% over the entire year. The request for advertisements on the iPad have specifically jumped 280% in the fourth quarter of 2010.
But we do not have to worry ourselves that the Android is dead. No ways. Android beat iOS in terms of impression shares, with a 46% network share when compared to Apple’s 32% share. There is an even bigger difference between Android’s and iOS’s revenue on the network with Android taking 55%, while iOS managed only 39%. Verizon saw its impression share go up by 2% in December, and it is going to be interesting to see how that network’s advertisement revenues grow with Verizon’s new offering for iPhone users – unlimited data for $30 per month.
The ‘Millenal’ report also reveals that advertisement requests on travel and vacation applications doubled in the fourth quarter, which shows that users who travel away from home remain connected to their iDevices, and make use of them during their vacation.
