Apple has been continuously allowing its products to evolve by taking in more features. In November, it will take this one more step as it plans to release the AirPrint, which will allow devices like the iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch to print documents. AirPrint will become available with the iOS 4.2 software update. The news has been hugely anticipated, especially after the release of the iPad. The ability to print documents will certainly increase Apple’s standings with more business-oriented users.

The app is capable of finding printers on a local network via Wi-Fi and prints various documents including text, photos and graphics. Due to the automated nature of the software and the wireless interface, users will not have to install any additional drivers to make it work. The app is also designed to function on a wide variety of printers, so you will not have to replace any existing hardware. Furthermore, devices with the update can print to printers that are shared through a Mac or a PC. However, keep in mind that this app will only wok with the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, and the iPod Touch (3rd generation and above).

Various companies like HP have been quite enthusiastic about the plan and it will not be surprising if more radical features are added later.
