There are rumors that Apple will soon be introducing a 7-inch version of iPad. It’s like the Samsung doesn’t want to waste any time in launching their 7-inch competition. At least they are not calling it GalactiPad or Sammy Pad.

Here are a few supposed specification of  the Sammy P: HD video playback, augmented reality, 7″ screen, Swype, Video calling, Android 2.2 (Froyo), A Sept. 2 coming-out party in Berlin (at the IFA conference).

A4 chipset designed by Apple and manufactured by Samsung controls the iPad and iPhone 4, and it is expected that they will use the similar specced Hummingbird that controls their Galaxy S-class smart phones here. While there are rumors that Android 3.0 Gingerbread has true tablet-sized UI scalability, skinning 2.2 up to fit 7″, especially at a rumored 1280×600 resolution should not be an enormous stretch from the current 800×480. They will also be apparently offering a variety of iPad- like accessories that include a keyboard dock.

So now what do you think that if the Galaxy Tab is out before a 7-inch iPad will it be a smart move to grab market share for Samsung? And how do the 7-inches of Froyo will compete with the 9.7-inches of optimized iOS on the current, non-speculative iPad?
