Netflix originally launched an app to support the iPad only, after this the Netflix CEO: Reed Hastings, announced that the App would be coming to all iOS devices sometime this year. As promised, Netflix has finally updated their App Store and hence released a new version of the app on iTunes store which, in addition to iPad, supports iPhone and iPod touch.
The Netflix version is actually just an upgrade to the version released along with the iPad on 3rd April.
The iPad version mainly uses the same Web interface as Netflix’s site. Whereas, the iPhone app has been redesigned for the mobile device, unlike the iPad version. You can browse genres, search for specific titles, or even view your instant queue of items to watch, with the help of the tabs at the bottom of the screen. The popular app also allows iOS device owners how to stream video directly from Netflix. The only limitation of this app seems to be that its catalog only contains titles that are available for streaming. It is also believed that the Netflix app is mostly web-based and not iPhone-native. However, with streaming media being one of the best features of this app it most definitely attracts most users even if it only works half as well as the iPad version.
