Even with the growing backlash and criticism of Apple’s handling of the iPhone 4 antenna issues, the company boasted the sale of 3 million iPhone 4 units in the first three weeks at a special press conference. A number that is all the more significant in light of the recent negative publicity the company has faced over the antenna issues plaguing the iPhone 4.

During the conference, Apple moved to address the antenna issues by offering free bumper cases for each new unit sold through September. In addition, the company will be providing refunds for anyone who already bought a bumper case. The company also had an opportunity to showcase the positive ratings and reviews it had received for the iPhone 4 thus far, including the review from Consumer Reports, which puts the iPhone 4 in the top position in the smart phone category.
