If you have been lucky enough to get your hands on one of Apple’s new iPad, you might be wondering what you can use to store the device in when you are on the go. Since typical carrying cases for laptops and netbooks are either going to be far too big, or too small to fit the oddly-shaped iPad, this is going to take something specifically designed for the device.
Tom Bihn has created just such a product. Their new Ristretto bag is made to carry the smaller iPad as well as a few accessories. It even had a compartment just big enough to carry your iPhone.
They are a company based in Seattle and are one of the few companies that makes their products right in the United States using materials sourced there as well. In the odd case where they need to source components from overseas, they make sure that fact is fully disclosed.
The bag has a built-in padded compartment to place your iPad in. It will also work equally well for most netbooks, or even the Amazon Kindle DX. It’s constructed out of 0.25″ open-cell foam that is laminated with 4 ply Taslan. This makes sure your device is protected on all sides. It comes with your choice of three shoulder straps, and weighs a meager 11 ounces, making it comfortable to carry around.
The Ristretto is available now and retails for $110, and also comes in a larger size capable of holding a MacBook. Demand has been high for the bag, causing it to go on backorder.
