After the iPhone was released to the masses earlier this week, reports started trickling in about strange splotches of color appearing on the new iPhone’s Retina displays. Apparently some screens have a yellow tint across the entire surface. For others, it’s a yellow band of color. Other have spots. Definitely not something you want to see on your brand new smartphone.

Now rumor has it that this is a normal side effect of the adhesive used in bonding the glass of the new iPhone screens. Apparently they shipped out the devices so quick from the factory that the bonding material hasn’t had sufficient time to dry.

So if you are experiencing these strange splotches on your new iPhone’s screen, just have a little patience. In just a few more days the bonding materials should have had sufficient time to dry, and your discolored screens should return to normal.
