A new browser has arrived for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad: Opera Mini is here.
Opera Software ASA announced the other day that Apple approved the iPhone version of the Opera mini mobile browser. As stated in the press release, it will be available worldwide as a free download within 24 hours depending, on the market.
One of the key features of the mini browser is its speed. It renders pages extremely fast because it’s not an actual web rendering engine like Safari or Firefox, but a proxy server. All the rendering and processing is handled by Opera’s own servers, compressed and then sent to the app.
Another added feature of the Opera Mini browser is the on-page search and you have tabs too.
Opera Mini doesn’t support flash, because of the encoding. However you have bookmarks, history, start page and saved pages, this one is for offline reading.
Opera link is the synchronization feature of the browser, to sync your bookmarks, and if you want to load the pages a little bit faster, you can set the image quality to high or low.
When you want to read an article you can zoom in with a single tap or just use the full screen option for a comfortable read.
Opera is available now in the App Store for free for US and UK users and it works on all iPhone’s running OS version 2.2.1 or later.
