If you ever wanted to perform a standalone tethered boot on your jailbroken 3.1.2 iDevice then iDongle might be for you. This is a newly developed product that can be used in a mini-USB to 30 pin adapter, or, if you want to connect it to a computer, simply plug it in with a standard USB cable.
The device measures 60mm by 30mm and is powered by a 9v battery. The result; you can jailbreak your iPhone in almost 30 seconds.
So, how does it work?
You must have the iPhone’s operating system version up to 3.1.2. If you have that then the steps that follow are relatively simple; Power-on your jailbroken device and when the iTunes logo appears, plug in iDongle, wait for the LED’s to stop flashing. After that, unplug the iDongle and wait for the iPhone to reboot. Finally, you will see the message, Sim Locked. That’s it, you’re done.
The hand mounted device is formed by eight pieces and it takes half an hour to mount, so with the sketch in your hands, you can do it, whether you’re a novice or not.
Since the iDongle is new, the production of this device is just a project, so you have to put yourself on the waiting list and maybe make a donation to help the developer to produce more devices.
