The iTunes Store is great… Right? You can download entire music albums, audio books, full television shows, even full length movies and much more. But there is only one problem, it costs money. With the new Free Movies application you can download almost any movie, released or unreleased for free. The app is available through Cydia in the BigBoss repository. You will need the Safari Download Plug-In.
It has a clean user interface and is very easy to use. Once you run the app it will start with a list of movies that can be downloaded. There are around 1000 titles as of this article but many are being added all the time. There is no search feature as of now but it will probably be included in the next release.
Once you have found the title that you want to download all you have to do is click on it and a new window will appear and you will be at the download page for the movie. Some sites require you to fill out some random characters so you can prove you are a human. Then you can proceed to the download page. Some sites will also require you to wait a minute or two to actually start the download. It will eventually start to download and once it has completed you will be able to watch it on your iDevice.
All in all Free Movies is a great app for downloading you favorite movie without having to sync with your PC or purchase it from iTunes. It is still in its early stages but should prove to be a very solid application.

I am pretty sure that you can use 3G or Edge because it user the Mobile Safari for downloading the movies. It is HTTP based not through torrents.
Good idea, but lots of links not workig or file formats not supported.
Most are just mega upload links…easier to get off isohunt and upload onto the iPhone yourself i think…
I don’t really care one way or another but, when people get up here and leave comments about illegal apps and stuff, you bust there balls because pi doesn’t support illegal activities and then you go and post this in its favor. I just find it to be rather amusing.
I downloaded this app last night to test it out. Unfortunately it is not as easy as this review says. The first movie I downloaded took several house to download. I woke up this morning very excited to watch a movie on a little road trip I am about to embark on. Unfortunately the file came in rar format and the program does not read them in that format. At this point I have a 500 meg rar file on my iphone and have no idea how to unrar it for viewing. If this program does not view the movies in compressed format I really do not think its very good. On a computer an uncompressed movie can take up to 4 gigs of space. People out there like me with an 8 gig iPhone even a 16 gig iPhone don’t want files that large just sitting around on the phone. You are asking for problems. I am going to delete this file and try another movie. If it comes down in rar form again I would have to say this app sucks. It would be much easier to download a movie on your computer and copy it over to your phone if you choose to. Personally I feel that if you want to watch movies you need to get an iTouch with much more space. Illegal or not poor app in my opinion.

While I understand your opinion it seems kinda hypocritical to say anything is illegal on a hacking website. We use so many programs that illegally change the way that apple wants its device used that this is not much different. While some say what we do isn’t really illegal it is a very very fine line.
If that isn’t enough than take the fact that we also use soulseek and other P2P applications such as this. Not to mention Cydia, which is all the apps Apple doesn’t want you to use. Cracked versions of those apps and so on. Some of this we don’t cover normally but P2P applications are the same no matter where you are or what you download. You are only meant to download things as a backup, we aren’t condoning downloading movies you don’t already have as that is definitely illegal. Just an easier way to get them onto your phone on the fly.
I was skeptical about these kind of apps but this one works quite well, no issue so far. A bit more “unreleased” flix would be a nicer but beggar can’t be picky.

Can I really watch movies for free using iTunes or iPhone? I hear hulu is about to release a new application for the iPhone and MP adready did. It’s weird facebook aren’t doing anything similar. It is legal, isn’t it?
Personally I think that this app sucks. I cant get any of the movies to do anything accept to send me to a webpage about making money with Google. I dont want spam I want to watch movies. I give this app no stars at all. NOT user friendly AT ALL!!!
I have tried to down load a movie but when I clicked a movie, it turn to linkbuck site and asked me to wait for 15 sec for the site to load! After a while there is nothing happen! Plz tell me what can I do?

I haven’t tried the app yet because I need ‘iDownloader’ which I will get soon, but I was wondering, does the app regularly update the movies on their and do you have to have dTunes for it to work? The app seemed good at first, but as I’m reading these comments posted, I’m not so sure. Does anyone no any other apps as a backup?
The app has alot of movies but most it says Use “hotfile” or “miniupload” which turns up to not work cuz the file is missing. Only MegaUpload works :/ it sucks!
